About the Book :
This study, carried out under the
aegis of Natural Resource Data Management System (NRDMS) programme, attempts to
address a wide range of issues concerning village development planning in India,
with special reference to the Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh. Describing
the geographical location and religion-historical importance of the district, it
takes a close look at the natural and human resources of the district as well as
its economic and infrastructural indicators. It also makes a comprehensive study
of the village level planning in Mangaura block. Finally, it analyses the impact
of various rural development programmes being implemented at village and block
levels.
About Author :
H.R. Yadav did his Post
Graduation, M.Phil and Ph.D. from J.N.U. New Delhi, worked as Research Associate
& Pool Scientist (1986-94) of CSIR, has published 5 books and 45 Research
papers, and completed 91 projects in the fields of Wastelands Development, Rural
Technology, Rural Development & Employment Generation programmes. Dr. Yadav has
been the member, Landuse Board, Govt. of U.P. National Wastelands Development
Board, Govt. of India, and Board of Management, N.D. University of Agriculture &
Technology, Faizabad. Dr. Yadav was the Member of RC-CZ, CAPART, Ministry of
Rural Development, Govt. of India. He is the founder Member Secretary &
Director, Institute of Wastelands Reclamation & Rural Development (1990),
Institute of Science & Technology for Rural Development (1994) and RIWARD Post
Graduate College at Sultanpur affiliated to the Dr. R.M.L. Avadh University,
Faizabad. Presently, Dr. Yadav is engaged in the implementation of employment
generating programmes through Preservation and Processing of Fruits and
Vegetables and Bio-technology, Nano Science, Bio-Technology Afforestation &
Bio-Informatics programmes and developing village information system for Amethi
Block, District Sultanpur.
